Belouizdad primed for Medeama clash on road to 'destiny'

CR Belouizdad coach Marcos Paqueta says his side will treat Friday's TotalEnergies CAF Champions League clash away to Medeama SC as "destiny" to avoid mistakes in their quest for glory.

On a roll after thrashing Young Africans 3-0 in their Group D opener, the Algerians brace for stern examination in Kumasi against the Ghanaian league winners.

But Paqueta cut a defiant figure at the pre-match press comference, stating: "In matches like this we shouldn't make mistakes and will treat it as our destiny."

The Brazilian has thoroughly analysed Medeama's frailties and prepared tactics to exploit them accordingly.

"We have reviewed Medeama's weaknesses and worked on taking advantage while keeping our same style home and away," noted Paqueta.

"We don't care about our opponents. We'll approach the game with intention of winning."

That winning mentality courses through the squad, with striker Lamin Jallow demanding collective sacrifice to secure a vital positive result in unfamiliar surrounds.

Despite scoring against Young Africans previously, Jallow stressed only the team's objective matters now.

"We have to sacrifice to return to Algeria with a positive result," outlined the 27-year-old.

"We have an excellent coach and players with Champions League experience. But we must stay unified."

On an intense continental road filled with pitfalls, Paqueta views every match as instrumental in Belouizdad's destiny.

With strong preparation and steely spirit, the Algerians appear primed to handle the unique challenge Medeama pose on their latest step chasing glory.
