Coach Beaumelle praises MC Alger players after win over Yanga

MC Alger head coach Patrice Beaumelle hailed his team’s performance after a commanding 2-0 victory over Young Africans in their CAF Champions League Group D clash on Saturday night.
The match, held at the July 5, 1962 Stadium in Algiers, marked a crucial win for the Algerian club in their pursuit of a knockout stage spot in the TotalEnergies competition.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, the French tactician expressed his delight with the result, which lifted MC Alger to four points after two group-stage games.
"I am very happy with this win against Young Africans, who have been performing brilliantly in African competitions for several seasons," said Beaumelle.
A Deserved Victory
Beaumelle commended his players for a dominant display, stating that the victory was well-earned based on the game’s dynamics.
"Our win against Young Africans is well-deserved. We now have four points after drawing away to TP Mazembe and winning at home against Young Africans. This makes me very happy," he added.
The coach attributed the victory to the collective effort of his players and technical staff.
"I take my hat off to the players and the entire technical team. I am satisfied because we played a complete game," Beaumelle remarked.
A Tribute to the Fans
In a heartfelt gesture, Beaumelle dedicated the victory to MC Alger’s supporters, who were absent from the stands due to a sanction requiring the team to play behind closed doors.
"I dedicate this win to the fans of MC Alger, who have supported us during tough times and stood by us throughout the past year. I’ve also received many messages of support from them," he said.
Despite the lack of crowd support, MC Alger showcased resilience and determination, boosting their chances of advancing to the next stage of the competition.
Group D Standings Tighten
The win places MC Alger in a favorable position with four points, following their earlier away draw against TP Mazembe. Beaumelle and his squad will now focus on maintaining their momentum in the remaining group-stage fixtures.
Meanwhile, Young Africans, who have been a formidable force in African football in recent seasons, will need to regroup quickly as the group-stage battle intensifies.
