Unbeaten ASEC Mimosas target rare away win against Galaxy

TotalEnergies CAF Champions League surprise package ASEC Mimosas will aim to snap a five-game winless away run when they visit Botswana's Jwaneng Galaxy on Saturday.

The Ivorian outfit have made an assured start in Group B, picking up four points from their opening two matches to sit level on points with their upcoming hosts.

But replicating that form on the road has been a problem for ASEC in recent outings across all competitions.

Coach Julien Chevalier reported his side were "more than prepared" to end that barren streak as they head to Francistown Stadium this weekend.

"We know we will pocket the points," a bullish Chevalier declared ahead of the crunch Group B tie.

The Frenchman added he was ready to "do everything" necessary to guide the club to another three points after beating Wydad Casablanca last time out.

That 1-0 success owed much to an early Sankara Karamoko goal. And Chevalier will be relying on the striker to breach Galaxy's defence on Saturday.

Karamoko has netted 10 times across all fronts this term and captain Aka Essis insists the Ivorians are "here for the victory" despite a long trip to Botswana.

"Despite the exhaustion, we are here for the victory," Essis stressed, highlighting his side's ambitious mentality.

Galaxy will aim to thwart those hopes by building on a solid start under coach Morena Ramoleboli.

The Botswana outfit held Tanzanian side Simba 0-0 here last time out in the Champions League.

And spearheaded by Thabang Sesinyi the hosts will fancy their chances of extending ASEC's away-day blues.
