Senior Manager - Football Events

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the planning and implementation of CAF Main Tournaments and Special Events such as Tournament Draws, CAF Awards & Medal Ceremonies.
  • Contribute to the conceptualization, design, specifications, and budgeting for events (stage, podium, technical production, etc.).
  • Proactively managing and strategizing all event needs. 
  • Advancing, maintaining, and managing external partners and vendors for multiple events and swag, including negotiating optimal terms.
  • Increasing the engagement strategy, creative approach, planning, and execution of CAF Tournaments & Special Events.
  • Producing detailed proposals for events, e.g., timelines, concepts, venues, suppliers, legal obligations, staffing, and budgets.
  • Managing concepts implementations and operations with CAF relevant departments, external stakeholders and event agencies.
  • Perform thorough venue assessments and create strategic plans to optimize logistics and submit reports.
  • Supporting team with on-site execution and management, including staffing and resourcing.
  • Leading the project team and all liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Managing event budget and tracking expenses.
  • Developing and delivering event enablement to include pre-event briefings, at-event briefings, and drive post-event follow-up briefings and event retrospectives.

Requirements (profile):

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in business administration.
  • Previous experience of 10 years minimum in the event industry, event production, event management.
  • Wide expertise in the technical requirements of event production.
  • Experience in the sports industry is an advantage.
  • Any additional certification related to event is an advantage.
  • Strong project management skills with a clear focus on delivery and high-quality standards.
  • Ability to teamwork with very good social skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Ability to work smart under pressure and efficiently on multiple project requests simultaneously, and to deal with potential for tight deadlines and unexpected complexities.
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Flexible with travelling.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience using event management tools.
  • Fluent in English and/or French language both written and spoken; command of any other CAF official languages (English, French, Arabic) is a plus.
