CAF concludes successful CLOP Workshop in Uganda

CAF’s ongoing efforts of creating world-class administrative structures across the continent continued through its continuous rollout of the CAF Club Licensing Online Platform (CLOP) system.

The governing body of African football recently concluded a two-day workshop in Uganda where they partnered with the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) between 26 – 27 February.

The highly informative two-day gathering saw administrators from the Association and League being taken through the system’s usage and benefits, which is designed to equip help Member Associations and Leagues across Africa digitize their administration.

As per the previous workshops conducted by CAF with various Member Association, the workshop saw the administrators being taken through CLOP Training, CAF Club Licensing Regulatory Framework for men and women’s football as well as the mandatory CLOP criteria for the domestic and continental competitions.

Speaking after the workshop, CAF Head of Proffesional Football, Muhammad Sidat said CAF was encouraged by the reception from FUFA as well as other Member Associations who have shown great enthusiasm in implementing the system.

“Over the last year, we have seen an overwhelmingly positive response from our Member Associations in how they have received and implemented CLOP. The desire to improve and make use of technology by our Member Associations is evidently there and as CAF, we are quite excited to spearhead such a revolutionary programme that will contribute to a world-class football administration system across the continent”, said Sidat.

The CAF Club Licensing Online Platform (CLOP) is to start being operational in the 2024/2025 Season.

 

About the CAF Club Licensing Online Platform (CLOP):

CLOP is an electronic tool designed by CAF to oversee the club licensing and stadium inspection process for continental and domestic competitions.

Through the platform, each Member Association is equipped with a fully automated and electronic club licensing process for domestic and continental completions which allows clubs to archive and submit their club Licensing documents virtually.
